Product Overview

The ALVRIQ Grab Head is a specialized attachment for extracting loose material, sediment, and collapsed debris from boreholes where standard drilling buckets cannot operate effectively. Unlike a rotating bucket, the grab head uses a dual-jaw mechanism that opens on descent and closes on retrieval, clamping spoil between hardened cutting edges for vertical removal.

The body is fabricated from Q355 structural steel with NM400 wear strips on the jaw edges and hinge points. The jaws feature interlocking tooth profiles that grip irregular objects — collapsed concrete fragments, large rock pieces, or compacted clay lumps — securely during extraction. A heavy-duty hinge pin system ensures reliable operation under high cycle loads.

A universal kelly box connection (interchangeable with SANY, Zoomlion, XCMG, and BAUER rotary drilling rigs) makes this grab head compatible with virtually all major drill rig brands without modification.

Key Features

Dual-Jaw Mechanism

Two interlocking jaws open on descent and close on retrieval, clamping spoil between hardened tooth profiles. Grips irregular objects — rock fragments, concrete pieces, clay lumps — securely for vertical extraction.

Close-Pull Action

Jaws close mechanically on the upward pull via kelly-driven torque, requiring no additional hydraulic lines. The simple, robust mechanism has fewer failure points than motorized grab systems.

NM400 Wear Strips

NM400 (400 HBW) wear-resistant steel on jaw edges, hinge points, and contact surfaces. Combined with manual hardfacing overlay for extended service life when extracting abrasive debris.

Universal Kelly Box

Interchangeable kelly box fits SANY, Zoomlion, XCMG, and BAUER rotary drilling rigs. No adapter needed — simply bolt on and start extracting.
